This is Granite Bay Flycasters’ only major fund raising event of the year.  There will be our famous raffle and silent auction loaded with valuable prizes, many of which are donated by GBF members, supporters, and community sponsors.  This event enables our club to be an integral part of the community. Please support our sponsors.

The money raised at the dinner equates to 60% of what it takes to run the club.  The annual dinner is a casual affair.  The raffle has several fly rods and reels to be won.  The silent auction will have both fishing and non-fishing items such as ½ price on a guided kayak trip on private waters, wine galore and several discounts for trips and equipment. Join us for an evening of fun.  If you would like to make a donation to the club it would also be appreciated.  If you are unable to attend the dinner you may still support the club by buying annual dinner raffle tickets.  Tickets will be sold to those not attending the dinner at the next two general meetings in $100, $50, and $10 packets.

Seating is limited to the first 204 members and friends, so be sure to order your tickets EARLY!

Raffle/Auction Items Needed

GBF Members and Sponsors: Please consider donating items for this year’s Annual Dinner by March 14th.

Our success at obtaining nice raffle and auction items is directly related to our success at raising the funds needed to pay for club activities in the year ahead.  Contribute now and you can benefit all year!

Here are some of the kinds of things club members have donated in years past:

  • New, unused merchandise – fishing-related or otherwise.

  • Professional services – in gift certificate or coupon form

  • Handcrafted goods – again, fishing-related or other

  • Flies you tied (favorites or specialty patterns) in a fly-box

  • Funds specifically designated for the purchase of prizes

Our sponsors have donated a variety of items and received recognition in the dinner program and our Sponsors webpage.

Getting any ideas?  If you can help, please call Dennis Baker and send donations to his address below.  Any contribution is appreciated, and all donators are duly acknowledged at the dinner and at our website.  Here’s your chance to help the club help you (and fellow members) catch more fish in 2009 and support GBF's conservation and education mission.

Mark your calendars…

The famous Granite Bay Flycasters Annual Dinner is coming!

This is our club’s largest organized event of the year and everyone’s invited to come for  the fun, food, great prizes, amazing raffle, incredible auction, fantastic program, and all the rest of what makes this event so popular!  As our primary fund-raising of the year, your purchase of dinner tickets (and maybe some drinks, raffle tickets, and auction items) helps the club pay for the kind of great programs, activities, outings, and conservation efforts that Granite Bay Flycasters has become famous for!  Here’s the facts…

Who:  Club members, friends, families, co-workers, neighbors… anyone who’s willing to help support our great organization and be eligible for great prizes at the same time!

What:  Dave Scadden is one of the pioneers in the pontoon boat industry and author of Fishing Untouched Waters, a book of pontoon boat techniques and tales, which he will share with us during his presentation.

When:  Saturday, March 27th, 2010.  The dinner festivities get going by 4:30pm (bar opens at 4:30PM; dinner is served at 6:00PM).

●  Where:  Rocklin Sunset Center, 2650 Sunset Boulevard, Rocklin, CA 95677

● Why:  Because you want to win some of the thousands of dollars worth of new fishing gear, trips to awesome fly-fishing destinations, and other cool stuff that will be raffled and auctioned off during this event.

● How:  Three ways to participate… 1) Buy dinner tickets at our monthly club meetings, 2) Donate funds, prizes, or services for the raffle or auction, and 3) Volunteer to help with the ‘dinner committee’ that puts the whole thing together.  You choose!!!

More...  Dinner tickets are $38 each.  Funds donated for the dinner are used to buy raffle prizes from local fly shops (at big discounts).  If you can make a donation or want to volunteer to help with the dinner committee, please contact Dennis Baker at 916-783-7876.
